Our Farm
What’s with the name?
"Sweet Iron" is the term used to describe a certain type of bit which rusts slightly.  Horses seem to enjoy the sweet taste of the rust, resulting in the name "Sweet Iron” bits.

We are located 25 miles south of Columbia. If you take a short drive towards Charleston on I-26, exit 129, turn right on Highway 21 towards Orangeburg for 3.5 miles, turn left on Big Beaver Creek Road and you will find yourself at our driveway; look for the big red mailbox with a Quarter Horse on the side.

Sweet Iron Farm is located on over 50 acres and cradled by over 1,500 acres of forest. You will find endless logging trails, dirt roads and lots of weekend trail rides with other horse enthusiasts in our area.

Do not be surprised to see a lot of activity going on on the farm. We are constantly clearning more land, planting more pastures, and building more fences.
